Not local I know, but this is a great site if you are thinking of leaving this Country which is in such rapid decline.  Grin

Living abroad?

I am quite well travelled and have been to many different countries in Europe, Asia. Africa and Australasia and have not seen anything  that would persuade me to emigrate. OK, most of my travelling has been work related but that probably gives me more insight as to what living in a particular country would be like. After all you have to work as well as live in a foreign country.

Most people have a distorted view of life abroad because they only see it as a tourist and It always looks rosier than it probably is.

So no thanks, despite all the shortcomings of living in Britain. I am here to stay for the duration.

I'm with Bob on this one.

especially as I'd rather not live in Spain next to some fat builder and his stupid Elizabeth Duke-bejewelled wife from dagenham!

Thats Essexist! Wink

IMO there is no place like home, its nice to travel, but I would be like a fish out of water in another country with other cultures .

Not for me personally, although I know many people make the move and never regret it for one minute.
