Hi
I am relatively new to the forum as I am not really a resident to Westbury. Me and my wife both work in London but have a rural getaway just outside Horningsham.
I am half Thai and my wife is Thai so when we first got our place here we tried all the different Thai restaurants in the area Bath, Bradford Avon, Westbury, Warminster and a few others further a field and the only one my wife will go to now after shopping around for 2 to 3 years is the one in Warminster, don't get me wrong most of the others the food is OK but my wife was brought up in Thailand and says this is the only one where the food is virtually exactly like what you get in Thailand, she does not have to worry about asking for it to be a bit more spicy as they do not seem to tame it down even for the locals. I would not say it is the best presented i.e could do with some updating but it seems to be only a small family run business.
The food however is spot on and she says there is not a better Thai restaurant in this country that she has been to and that Includes The Blue Elepehant in London so I would say to any of you locals give it a try even if it is a takeaway(I think they do them) to start with.

Welcome to the Forum.

Where is the said venue located please?

I like the Thai places in both Bradford and Westbury.

Warminster.
I am sorry I don't know the name of the street but it is Just around the corner from the end of the road that takes you up to the railway station.
It has a car park at the rear and is right next door to a pub and at the moment I can't even remember its name, my wife is not in so I cannot even ask her. Alll I can say is as far as I know there is only one Thai restaurant in Warminster.

I went here last night, very good food, you can have nibbles instead of a starter, if you wish.
Nicely decorated, and a nice atmosphere, i will be returning very soon.

But last night, due to being turned away from one eating establishment because of new laws regarding children and liscences, we ended up
going out for a bite to eat at the Hungry Horse.

I have been to this place several times in all, and have always found it to be mediocre in service, and pretty dire in food quality.

Was not expecting much last night but was keen to go out as it was just Doug Morgan and I.

Anyway, the place has changed in various ways.

The new decor was lovely, the place did not smell of beer all over the carpet like it used to, there was a new menu, the prices are
still good but I was very surprised by the quality of food.
I had lamb shanks, Morgan had jacket spud and Doug had some Bollywood Burger dish.

All really nice and good value, and I have to say I would now go back there having poured scorn on the place for years. applause applause

The Lamb in Edington when it re-opens will be called The 3 Daggers.

Some reference to the village I believe.

Used to work there a few years back for a while, through 2 different sets of owners.  Great fun really enjoyed time spent there.

Will be interesting to compare what its like now, when it finally opens.
