The Lock Inn in Bradford on Avon, prob the most friendly, relaxed eating venue, great location

The Thai Barn, BOA, quality food

The Hollies (massive portions, could not poss eat three course!!)

Bushbaby and I, nice for a treat

Deans, lovely fresh varied menu

Tale of Spice  friendly, personal service, great food

The Cedar Hotel, for a treat, lovely food, wedding memories Kiss

Prince Leopold at Upton Lovell. Food's delicious. Setting great in summer. Wintertime, wait in bar sitting on comfortable chairs in front of a lovely open fire.
Champions is the best Chinese restaurant but can't find a decent Indian anywhere. Anybody?
Had heard a certain restaurant in Westbury had much improved quality of staff and food so booked and ate there. Both food and "yoof" staff were below even L****e C**f standard. Will never never never ever go there again. Utterly rubbish. And it smelled of unclean pensioners. I'll not state which restaurant it is because i think most of you will have already been told to stay away.
By the way, I'm not a food snob and eat kebabs, yum, burgers etc from burger bars and roadside vans.

Well for Indian food we rate both Saffron and the Tale of Spice...... the latter being our preference as you can eat in etc.... food top class and waiters lovely.... surely you cannot be referring to that one?!

No. Not that one. It's a standard English restaurant with the usual pasta/curry additions to the menu.
We've tried both the Indians you've mentioned but we've been spoilt previously. We've only been in Westbury since moving down from Northfleet (large asian population, hence excellent Indian cuisine) in Feb 2004.

It's worth looking out for any specials Tale of Spice 2 do from time to time.  Claire and I were there on Valentine's day this year; the menu was almost completely different from the usual, and excellent too.  We both also like the Longs Arms at Steeple Ashton a lot, but some friends of ours didn't rate it - chacun a son gout as they say.

I especially like Tale of Spice 2 for takeaway, as I can walk down there and enjoy a pint of Kingfisher while I'm waiting for the food to be prepared.

I couldn't possibly say but if i could put the index finger of my left hand on the tip of my nose and point at you with the index finger of my right hand you may have won some sort of prize. The White Rabbit? Has anyone else eaten there? How did you find it?

The Thai barn is excellent.
Just had a takeaway from The Agra in Warminster.
Every Indian i've tried in this area seems to think that Indian food means piling in as many chillis and peppers as possible.
I'm pretty certain I should be able to taste the flavour of the curry and not just feel the burn from the ingredients.
.....i like spicy food but it must have flavour as well as heat.
The search still goes on for a decent Indian.

Did you say you had tried the Tale of Spice?

We went to the Thai Barn Fri evening...... it was fantastic.  We shared a huge starter with pork, sesame and chicken bread, fish cakes and much more plus various sauces, then I had noodles and yellow thai curry...... Mmmmmmmmmm it was delicious. Cheesy
