Does anyone actually know what the PCT are planning to do with the Hospital building once its all closed down?  Its a shame there are no rich Doctors who could set up their own private practise but cater also for NHS patients....

In the Wilts Times there was a terribly sad story about a woman who believes that lack of Maternity care contributed to the loss of her baby at 34weeks.. how terribly tragic for anyone to go through such a bereavement let alone feeling more could have been done to help.

Women in Westbury now have to travel to Trowbridge for their maternity care.. not always easy practical or cheap especially if its your second or third child.

I've heard that a new Hospital could be built in Melksham, by the Semington bypass. So they will probably sell off all the other ones to fund this one. Angry
What really gets my goat is that we pay for all these public services, and we have nothing on are doorstep. When we need something we have to travel to get it.

An old peoples home?  It was used for minor operations such as cataracts, it was used for Speech Therapy, stroke rehabilitation, A day centre for the elderly or infirm, it has a Doctors Suite, A counselling service, an Audiology Department and much more..... it will be a severe loss to the Town and the most vulnerable will suffer.

please be aware that the venue for the meeting with the PCT has changed, the date and time remains unchanged but instead of being at the West End Baptist Church it is now to be at MATRAVERS in Springfield Rd, the date is the 2 May, 6.30-8.30pm (tues)

Please please show your support and share your concerns and demand some much needed answers from the PCT.

We used the hospital( and still do) for all sorts of things, including appointments for my children , and the collection of medical aids, it was not an old peoples home, it was a working bustling cottage hospital, and now it isnt Sad

We will now have to travel to Bath I expect, to see specialists and paediatricians for our children, see it wasnt just for old people, the whole community benefited in so many ways.

A copy of the PCTs Pathway to CHange pamphlet can be seen on

www.westwiltshirepct.nhs.uk

I believe you can fill in a form also on this site giving your opinions on the proposals.

Whilst we ar on the subject, I have emailed the PCT informing them that this website is running and inviting them to share any information they have on their new proposals and to answer any queries.  Will not hold my breath, but I hope they do contribute.

Ok I know I am always harping on about this issue, but it is one that I feel incredibly passionate about and one that makes my blood boil.  People on the Forum seem fairly quiet on this subject.  Is it because you are complacent about it? Because you are indifferent or because you feel to complain will not change anything anyway?   I have befriended someone who was in the news recently due to the closure of Westbury Hospital.  He lost his wife. He is in ill health himself. He is an absolute gem of a man. Today we went to visit him and we talked about his health.  He is awaiting a blood tranfusion, something he regularly has to endure.. when our local Hospital was open he would only have to wait three days for the blood.. now he is reliant on Bath RUH. he has to now wait indefinitely.  He uses a nebuliser, he does not sleep well, he is awaiting a test relating to his heart.  It absolutely sickens me that this man and many, many others like him are being put in this predicament.  The people messing our health system up are nothing but naughty people pulling at purse strings and have no real idea ho much suffering they have caused and are causing.
