Went to see the new owners of the bookshop in the Market Plc today... next to the Old Town Hall... they have been there now for 12 Months if my memory serves me correctly.. and are beginning the very exciting venture of converting the back of the shop into a cafe, using the space out the back to build on an extension, and also upstairs is being converted into a gallery. They are in the process of downsizing the amount of books on sale but they will still be very much a feature in there.
The building itself is a real Aladdin's cave, beautiful and full of character and it has heaps of potential.
The Gallery is still in the early stages but has alot of work displayed, although the couple are keen to have more.. they want a real mix of work, and are keen for local artists to get in touch.
They are still very much offering their service of 'picture framing' too.
The couple are absolutely lovely people, so welcoming and friendly, I stayed in there chatting for ages.
Best of luck to them, and well done for breathing a much needed breath of fresh of air into Westbury. We need more people like them to modernise our Town a bit, there is no reason why we can not keep some of the Towns redeeming more traditional features as well as move with the times a bit and verge on air of cosmopolitan.  Come on, let's see more of this!!!!

Popped into the book shop this week, it is the first time I have been in since it changed hands.

Very friendly atmosphere, some lovely Christmassy craft items, excellent coffee and mince pies,  Thumb up!
got so chilled out I forgot the time, and got a shock when I realised it was quarter past three.
Luckily Pete collected the kids from school.  Embarrassed

When I mentioned it to another friend, she said we ought to go there next week.
