Heard it all before, my daughter has been on the list for over 6 years, has 2 children and is no nearer the top than when she joined the list.   If I was to kick her out then that would be different but I'm not going to do that.   She will languish at the bottom of the list because we are not going to abuse the system.   Shame she is English, hard working and paying her dues.   Unlike some who have been housed virtually overnight.

I also have a daughter who is pregnant with her boyfriend who both work and they are waiting for a place to live, they would love to own their own house but both do not earn enough for a morgage.
The housing society have suggested that we write a letter telling them we are making them homeless,i would never see them on the streets or in a hostel but if writing a letter pretending to do so helps then so be it!i dont like it but if that what it takes to get into the system then thats what im prepared to do. Sad

I was homeless 20 years ago and I see that nothing has improved in all those years, I dont think it ever will now, after the selling off of council homes drastically reduced the amount of social housing is where it all went very wrong. Losing our home was the worst thing, and it was a very very cold winter, I remember wandering the streets waiting for the council to find me a bed for the night and for my 8 month old baby. Misery that I would not wish on anyone, yet it still happens.

It took years for me to actually get a home that was not temp accomodation, and I had to do my 'time' in seedy B&Bs and freezing cold flats. I never gave in though, never went back home, it was tough but worth it in the long run. it took 7 years for me to aquire a social home that was suitable for our needs, and really this should still not be happening, no Government seems to be tackling the problem of homelessness for families and to address the scandalous social housing under development.
This new scheme will be a drop in the ocean, and is an insult to those who have no proper home.

Im not questioning peoples morals over this and if people pretend to get their goal who am I to criticise.   Im just saying the system is unfair.
