in a 100 years will it really matter

« on: January 25, 2012, 18:14:07 »

i have had a bad few months , and those who know me may well know why, SO HERE GOES.
Since the utter stupidity of these crass car parking charges we have seen the misuse of car parking spaces. I see able body ignorant shi..s parking in disabled parking slots whilst others park outside Chantry and Britannia without a care in the world. I KNOW NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE, but. Can we not, those who care, Take Car registrations and Name and Shame in the local paper. I cannot see the Police or any other legal body really caring for our limited disabled parking spaces due to overwork in other areas, but some of the unashamedly parking is utterly shameful

I quite agree Dorian, the new parking charges well not new they came into effect last April has severley effected trade within Westbury town centre, my trade alone is down by around 40% since the charges where introduced.
This has led to selfish parking by others who have got to know when the wardens are comming around  , and using spaces designed for disabled drivers , this is not on !You are not the first person to raise this subject , and perhaps we could bring this up as an issue through the town council and then take it further. The police I am afraid have no duristiction on car parking any longer and comes under the Wiltshire council duristiction.
I will raise your concerns tmoro through Wiltshire council and get back to you asap.

just to add for Information only both myself and David Jenkins voted against the parking charges last february at Wiltshire council , Russell Hawker was unable to attend the meeting , but also agree,s against the charges.

So all three Westbury Unitary councillors are working in unison , for the westbury people and on this issue against the ruling party at Wiltshire council which are the conservatives , who brought these charges In.
