seems like some people actually boast about it whilst working a subject that really gets on my nerves.
would you inform on someone you knew was cheating the benefits.

Only If I knew 100% for definate. People boast, sometimes without grounds just trying to show off. To grass someone who you suspect may be cheating the benefits system could lead to undue grief for someone who could well be innocent.
