Why bother paying a TV licence Fee.   This years new years eve.   No Countdown, No Big Ben, No shots of a man in a kilt, no shots of revellers in Fountains, no Bagpipes or reference to Hogmanay.   TV is rubbish we seem to have slipped into 2012 seemlessly without a celebration.   I dont care about Mr Stephen Frys 100 best gagets I want to see people enjoying themselves and counting in the New Year.   I am an official grumpy old bast++d. cope with that spell checker.

Where where you watching TV here in London on ITV we had about 15 minutes of views of Big Ben spouting fireworks, the wheel, and high level views over the Thames, in all something about 2million pounds worth of fireworks, and everybody I have spoken to agrees it was a try out for the jubilee and the Olympics.

Well I live in 'deepest Wiltshire' and watched what Londoner watched.

But having said that, I agree Charlie the TV not only at New Year but all over the Christmas period was crap!

Bring back the good old days when they used to make 'Christmas specials' like Only Fools and Horses etc.

I seem to remember quite a few Christmas specials this year:  Dr Who, Ab Fab, Outnumbered, all number of "home/lifestyle" programmes, to name but a few.

And I also seem to remember the more recent Christmas Specials of Only Fools, etc. were dreadful!
