I thought this was a bit of a Daily-Mail-Storm-In-A-Teacup personally. The players were going to wear the poppies in the line up anyway - I'm not sure why the FA got so uppity about wearing them on the pitch too...

Wearing a poppy = respect. Does not wearing a poppy = disresepect?

In the case of the England team the only risk would come if they hugged each other after scoring, i.e. no risk whatsoever!!
