Okay, I will start by saying I do not claim to know all the facts surrounding said person, but I see things regularly now and I am concerned.

An elderly very vulnerable man who lives I think near us, walks regularly into Town direction, quite a distance, he is often in slippers, and is very unsteady on his zimmer frame.

Several times now he has fallen, banging his head, once we stopped to help.

Each time the ambulance comes.

Then we see same scenario.
At what point will this man get the proper support he obviously needs, I am worried for him, but do not know him, so cannot help.

I know of an elderly gentleman who lives in Trowbridge, who resembles your description CC.

I work with members of his family, and they are desperate for him to receive proper help, but every time his family get social services and the NHS out to attempt to treat him, assess him or intervene, said elderly gentleman refuses all of this - accusing the services and his family of interfering.

He just wants to continue living in his own home, and ultimately die there, rather than be taken into hospital or nursing care or residential care.

In someways an admirable attitude to have, but he's an unending source of worry for his family.

Irrespective of the case in hand, I do feel that generally, this country does NOT look after the vulnerable enough. We care for the criminal, the work shy and the illegal immigrant. Our Government does not care about the genuinely vulnerable!

I wholeheartedly agree.

Two stories yest in the News.

One couple killed themselves as they were so poor they could not face another winter here, in ENGLAND... both completely illiterate and unable to
work as told by their local job centre they would walk miles to a soup kitchen for food.      Decided they were better off dead.

Unthinkable.

An elderly lady for no apparent reason had a ''DO NOT RESUSCITATE" put above her head in a Hosp ward.    After her op, she went into Cardiac Arrest and was, as directed, not helped, but left to die.

Her family are bewildered and have no answers as to why this was allowed to happen.

Oh and a third story?Huh  It is reported once again just how much we neglect the elderly in Hospitals with it being common practise for their meals to go cold in front of them where they cannot feed themselves.

AN OUTRAGE.
