I was unfortunate enough to have to go to B&Q 3 times on Saturday, each trip took at least 45 minutes.

Although the parking fees in Trowbridge have jumped up by about 200% the reason for the retail park being so busy is the opening of all the 'chav' shops. Matalan etc. Plus half the carpark is shut off while they build a KFC. Tongue I stay well clear of Bradley Road on a Saturday now.

I think the closure of West Ashton Road had something to do with it too.

the opening of all the 'chav' shops

Correction

Value for money shops, where you can buy the same product that you would purchase elsewhere
for a much reduced price.

I think I was right first time. Grin

And Pete is probably right in saying the West Ashton road being closed had something to do with it. Why's it closed anyway?

Compare the 2 webpages above Bob

Both have Jeff banks shirts on
one from Debenham's about £38
one from matalan about £15

Now i would say the fool buys from Debenhams, and gives his hard earned money away easily

The sensible person buys the same shirt from Matalan for £23 less than Debenhams

Now if you want to call me a chav for being sensible, fine call me a chav, and ill say you are not sensible, by not shopping there. Wink

To start with the retail park as others have said is very busy at the moment they have 3 new stores matalan and the other 2 discount stores , in times like these ofcourse people will go to them , when they are selling the same as the major chains at a vast reduced rate, to the major chains, what they are selling at is the RRP only it is the major chains who are taking the wee wee and doubling their profits.

Last week looking in Morrisons tescos , sainsbury and asda along with Mcolls they are selling Kinnerton advent calendars featuring the like of the simpsons Dr who pepper pig etc for £1.99 , well in Jitterbugs the same product is being sold for the RRP of 99p . these stores at the retail site in trowbridge are doing the same and charging what the RRP is, it is the major chains who are now being challenged by the new up comming Independents , who are still making a profit but not taking the public for a ride, these retail giants are not going to be reducing their prices as they can not in cases where they are being challenged as noted by MC colls yesterday as the prices are set by their head office.

As coming to the Wiltshire council and the parking charges I voted against this measure when it came up and in reality months gone by it is getting worse and now needs the conservative cabinet at wiltshire council to admit they have scored a home goal ten times over and then reverse the ludricous system and return it to what it was before.

1. Where is "jitterbugs"?   Grin Grin

2. Will the Cabinet at Wiltshire Council realise they have scored a massive "own goal"? We will find out shortly!

I popped over there yesterday at about 4pm thinking it might be a bit quieter over there.. how wrong was I? Complete chaos reigned! And how long does it take to put up a new KFC? It seems to be taking an age.. They can whack houses up in Leigh Park a damn site quicker than they can that little place?
