http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15414168But apparently not concerned about the debts of their own people caused by the excessive interest rates charged by the banks and their credit card companies (All credit cards, be they banks or "instore" are owned by the parasites we call banks), despite promises to cap interest rate charges, i.e. banks paying 0.5% interest, but their credit card charges charging 27% interest. Another "promise" that has proved to be completely worthless! They are already saying that people should shop more to bring the country out of recession, i.e. consumer led recovery, but in practice this just means more profits for their friends in the banks and more misery for their customers! NO, force the banks to cut the current credit charges and this will release more real money into the economy! They won't do it of course, so I, for one, will not spend money I do not have to "help" the economy, i.e. the banks and the treasury!

Nice Idea Londoner but , can not be done, the VAT is now dictated by The EU , nationalise the gas and electric companies would fall foul of European competition laws, which would cost Britain billions in fines, and finally there are no politicans in the UK who would actually do any of that as currently the 3 main parties in Parliament are too EU fixated at any cost to the British purses of the general public , as they say people have got what they voted for a bunch of self serving gravy train pasengers who do not listen to the general public as we are too stupid to make decisions or understand they and they only know what is best END OFF.

This quantitative easing seems a load of rubbish, giving the money to the banks is not going to help. I say give each person over the age of 18 £1,000 and tell them they have to spend it, that will pump about £50 billion into the economy and the banks won't be able to sit on it.

well it is in a much better situation than any Eu or Usa economy , the government there knew what they where doing and Instead of bailing out the banks gave it instead to the people , they repeated this action 6 months later , and when i was there during the first public payouts ,everywhere you went it was busy with people spending their government gift money. We had the conversation with a state senator out there about this and what the government here was doing , and he said the only way to get an economy back on track is the general public out there spending, contry to what has happened here , where people are too scared to spend as they do not know what is to come next to strip them even more to save banks , who by their own recklessness have brought about the whole situation by lending trillions to unsafe loans throughout the western world . In simple turns would you lend a wee wee head with no job a hundred pounds when there is no safe guard you will get your money back as they do not work can not pay the bills they already have ? this is what the banking system did its called Toxic , or plainly speaking stupidity.Greece is a simple example along with Porugal spain Italy and Ireland.

Mike, you must really stop making things up and then presenting them as facts when they are not. I suppose you work on the theory that if you say something enough times you start to believe It's true.

It is quite clear what is the staus quo Bob , perhaps most normal right thinking people must be living in some sought of fantasy Island where all EU subjects and practices are brilliant , with their books being refused to be signed of for over 14 years , and these are the very people telling the Eu what we will do concerning the current crisis. Please excuse me whilst im talking cobblers as you say . I do not only believe in the plain facts , I clearly know them well , and that is nothing to do with being a Ukip Member , it is common sense and not the trendy Europhile some have become , a question find me one example of Britain recieving more funding from the EU across the board than the Uk has put IN then perhaps I might start agreeing with you !!!!!!!!!!! Find me the benefits of the uk fishing industry since the common fisheres policy was implemented and our stocks have been depleted and our fishing fleets ruined. want me to go on and on. Ukip are not a party of wanting out Europe they believe in being a free trading partner we joined in the begining when it was the EEC not the EU. Ted Heath admitted before he died he lied in the referendum that there was not drive to political union and it was a free trade club only, we now have a political club that not one of the general public has voted for in the 40 years we have been a member.
