On yer bike ?

Does anyone know a safe cycling route from Westbury to Trowbridge without risking suicide
along the A350 or traffic zooming along West Ashton Road or Bratton Rd ?
I've been studying the rights of way maps, but to no avail. Everytime I find a possible
route there is a stile in the way. I really wish they would use an alternative, as this
rules out so many options for bikes.
I was hoping to cycle to work some days, but trying to get there is a nightmare.
I cannot understand why some of the rights of way could not be adapted to be more bike friendly.
I don't mean expensive tarmac and all that effort, but it makes sense to me to link the towns
and villages of Wiltshire to encourage people out of cars and onto bikes if they wish.

It's a long way around, but you can go via Dilton, Brokerswood and then Sothwick/North Bradley
I occasionally cycle into Trowbridge and go over the Ham. Going past the mineholes up to the junction there on the end of the Ham is safe enough, and then you've only got the stretch past the Trading Estate and Hawkeridge junctions, then once you get to the North Bradley business park there's a very quiet lane behind Ascot Court that leads into Drynham Road to get into central Trowbridge.

Thanks Tag.
The Hawkeridge bit is a bit dicey for me though, with the big lorries and buses along that stretch.
I've seen cyclists struggling along there with long tailbacks behind them.
I haven't given up completely yet, need to examine the maps a bit more.
Thing is I like cycling, but usually not long distances and with at least a pit stop half way. (Pub ideal at weekends.
)
A lot of the Sustrans cycling stuff seems to be aimed at people who can do 26 miles without blinking,
although there is a new proposed route between Warminster and Westbury on the maps.
