I have been out to Westbury Cemetery today and was told by one of the English Landscape chaps that as of 3pm today the toilets will be locked until 9am Monday each weekend, ALSO as from tonight the cemetery gates will no longer be locked, this a council cost saving idea right across the county. I wonder how long it will be before damage is done out there and their equipment pinched out the chapel.

Instead of care for the community, the great "God" finance is to be allowed free rein.
However, if damage is caused, and any member of this forum knows who is responsible, they MUST be named and shamed (stuff their human rights or right to privacy). Also name, if we know who it is, the person who has made this decision - possibly the Wiltshire Councillor who is Cabinet Member for Cemeteries?

I hope to high heaven that no one has to suffer the torment of a loved ones grave being messed with or damaged in any way.

AN UPDATE!!
I had a chat with the old Caretaker that used to live in the lodge at the cemetery and we were talking about the gates now being left open at night now and also windows being broken now in the Chapels etc AND then he tells me that he had been told that youngsters race round and round the cemetery at night on their motorbikes!!!

Cannot the Sextons dig a few trial holes to catch some of these b*st*rds! The problem we have is a few disrespectful idiots, brought up to believe they are the only one's who matter, are destroying our community!

No No No a better way to stop them is a length of steel baler wire across the path between the trees at about chest height.
