1.May peace break into your home and thieves steal your debts.
2.May your pockets be magnets for £100 notes.
3.May love stick to your face and laughter assault your lips.
4.May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be joy.
5.May your problems forget your address.
...6.In simple terms - may 2011 be the best year of your life.
Happy New Year. X

Jumped in the car about 5:30 and drove up to Richmond (with a KFC break at Fleet services). Got to Richmond just after 8pm and jumped onto the tube up to Embankment - only had to pay for the one way as all travel on London transport (except taxis of course) was free between 23:45 and 04:30.

Got to Embankment at about 9pm only to find that Victoria Embankment (the main viewing area) was full already so we had to make our way around to Waterloo Bridge - signing and stewarding was excellent.  Before we went onto the bridge we decided to go for a toilet break, we found a coffee shop with customer toilets, so proceeded to spend over £10 on 5 drinks just to use the loo !!!!!

Got through the barriers and onto the Bridge at 21:30 and found a spot with a good view. Lots of stewards checking bags for glass bottles, etc.

That was it - had to wait around until midnight - the kids found that a bit boring (understandably really)  - then there was the fireworks display, the kids got excitied when the helicpoters arrived about 15 minutes beforehand.

You could probably tell by the tv pictures - the fireworks were fantastic - was a real experience to actually feel the explosions! Couldn't hear the music though lol, didn't realise there was any music til I saw it on the telly the next day!

Then it was back to the tube station, and my god, the streets were packed full - took us about an hour to get back to the tube station at Embankment (10 minute walk when we arrived) then another 30-45 minutes on the tube to get back to Richmond (2am). got back in the car and arrived back in Westbury at around 3:30am.

All in all, a long journey for just 10 minutes of the firework display, but I'm really pleased we did it.

Never saw any trouble apart from one guy getting carted off when we got back to the tube station afterwards. Despite the huge crowds and inevitable drunk revellers we never felt unsafe at all.

Considering Ryan's condition, he did really really well, I was very impressed with him.
