LMS "Black 5" steam loco is on a Poole Bristol Poole excursion on Thursday 25th Nov, and will stop at Westbury on the way out, and pass through on the return.
Warminster 1153
Westbury (a) 1203
Westbuy (d) 1216
Bradford Jc 1227
Bradford Jc 1712
Westbury 1720
Warminster 1732
Again its a going to be dark at Upton Scudamore, but the spectacle in the dark may be worth it. Sparks Steam Smoke and the glow from the firebox, the lights from the carriage windows.
Someone who was at Upton Bank for Bittern, reported the fantastic sound of the Gresley A4 gradually diminishing into the distance being replaced by the sounds of Warmnster carnival coming through the cold clear air....... No carnival on the 25th, and a more industrial sound from a Black 5, but it might beat being on the station as the 4-6-0 gathers its skirts for a run at the bank.
Remember Westbury is a working station. Always abide by the instructions of the station staff, who I always find considerate and tolerant on these events.

Nice 20 minutes or so at Westbury Station in the morning, with a spirited get away making all the right steam locomotive noises.
I went to the bridge at Upton Scudamore bank for the return. It was a great spectacle. Perfect conditions and 44932 could be heard miles away. We were shrouded in smoke steam and sparks as it went underneath us. Well worth the wait in the cold clear air. Fantastic!
I am sure if you were out and about in Westbury, Dilton or Warminster about 1800 you would have heard it
