premium fuel at petrol stations.

I went to the garage at the top of town the other day and 2 out of the 4 pump stations were closed, and surprise surprise the only 2 available were the one`s that were selling their Premium petrol and diesel.
As if we`re not paying way above now for our petrol, they`re now trying to sell us the so called better fuel.
I did not use these pumps and decided to fuel up elsewhere,Has anyone used this dearer fuel?and if so was it worth the extra money?

Use morrisons in warminster or asda in frome. the one in westbury are like motorway fuel points have a monopoly so charge top rate.

Yes, I didn't realise one day and got caught out, should have looked at the prices on the pumps before I filled up. anyway, I never noticed and better fuel economy

For your joe average road car this higher octane fuel is not worth paying the extra for, and you certainly won't see any performance enhancement or improved mpg from it.
Certain high end cars with performance engines you are adviced to use this fuel, but then if you can afford to buy and run a high end sports car in this climate, then a few pence more per litre of fuel is nothing.
It is certainly more of a rip off for the rest of us if it's the only option when you get to the pumps. I would have done the same and gone else where.

Morrisons at Warminster or Adsa at frome are the cheapest around. The higher grade of fuel makes no differance to my car, just my wallet !
