Dougs car, was as we thought, a write off thanks to the distracted driver, on route to work a couple of weeks ago (altho I must say the chap in question has at all times been so lovely and polite etc)

We are now looking for a (dirt) cheap motor.

The insurance Comp are giving us 300 for his.  Embarrassed

Does anyone know of one for sale?

Pref one with cheap tax, full MOT and low mileage as well as cheap to run  Tongue

What condition is Doug's car in? Does it drive ok?
If so,then why not buy it back off the insurance company and put it back into use. It'll probably cost you peanuts to buy and then possibly peanuts to attend to any repairs if any are necessary.
Depending on the category of write off, namely a C (C= less damaged or D= more damaged) you can just start using it immediately if it's roadworthy and still has tax and test.

Thats the annoying thing Alg, it has only recently had the MOT and that cost us a fair whack.

Not sure on the Category yet as not had the paper work, only done the phone conversation so far.

Will look though.

Both passenger doors are buckled right in, so I guess internal damage is the worst bit of that???

Its worth considering tho, is that the norm then?  Would the insurance comp allow that?
