I believe that its the governments and local councils wishes to put a charge on businesses who provide parking spaces over a curtain amount for their employees, this is to get people to use public transport more(so they say)
I work in melksham and live in 1 of the villages outside Westbury, and i do shift work so are the local bus companies going to put on a service to Melksham at 5:30am or even a service at 6:ooam to get me home again,NO ABSOLUTE C**p its just another excuse to hit companies and car drivers,i know i will give up work and go on the dole and live off social security,SEEMS TO ME THEY ARE BETTER OFF.

live on social security , you'd better hurry up then , that's another system being overhauled so you wouldn't get a penny as you left your job voluntarily

Westburylad, a single person claiming JSA will get £60 a week, so it wont really make you better off if you earn over, say,£100 or so a week, as you would also get housing benefit if you rent.

No, but it would be a foolish company that passed the tax onto their employee directly, so even if you cycled you would end up paying for it indirectly. In this area, with our poor imfrastructure, an employee who cycles to work is extremely unlikely not to have a car, in addition to this an employee who cycles to work is extremely unlikely not to have one or two days a year s/he will need to drive to work.
