About a year ago I let you know that I had been made redundant. At 62 years of age (at that time) I was "written off" as having a snowballs chance of getting another job!

I managed to get a three month contract with Wiltshire Council from September to December 2009.

Since then I have applied for over 25 jobs, the majority of which were not even acknowledged, I've had 8 interviews (7 of which did not even contact me after the interview).

I have today been offered a job in my own field of work, as a Regional Health and Safety Adviser, for the South West and South Wales region. Needless to say, I have accepted!!

I am happy!!!!!!!

Brilliant news Mike, congratulations.

As a fellow job seeker I can share your frustration at the lack of acknowledgement when it comes to interviews/CVs.

I have a regular care job again now so do not have to worry for a while.

All the best to you.
