Britain will experience a spring heatwave with temperatures forecast to rise to 68C (20C) by the weekend.
About time too, I've still got the heating on.

Does Saturday's 19.7c, yesterday's 19.8c and the current 18.7c not count despite there being virtually no cloud for 3 days? The main thing for chilly houses is that the nights have been cold, not a problem with full on sunshine by day IMO!

The BBC forecast, for what's its worth
still shows an overnight temp of 3C tonight and only 2C tomorrow, rising in the week with good sunny days Weds - Fri. The thick stone walls here take a few weeks of warm weather to heat through.

Weren't we supposed to have a barbecue summer last year?
Weather forecasts are about as reliable as an election campaign promise.

Oh Alg, what a cynic.
You and Karen must come and stay and we can have a BBQ here, that would be lovely.
I am all for a very long, very hot Summer.
