A lot of it is financing drug habits, but also a slef esteem thing - these girls seldom have had what you or I would call a decent upbringing

Trowbridge gets more than its share of investment, I think.  But WHSmith etc etc only come because theres money to be made - people shop there - I dont think the council can be honestly blamed for Trowbridge ahving (eg) a monsoon, and westbury not.

I'd like a health food shop / delicatessen in westbury, but I dont think the turnover would be afst enough before expiry dates were hit.

I like that idea Yokel.
Just come back from Trowbridge
which has a pop about 10,000 more than us:
Baby / Children's clothes + school uniforms
McDonald's (I like their breakfasts)
Furniture / Carpets
Proper sandwich / pie shops (I was hungry!)
Bookshop
Mobile phone shops
An Iceland

Melksham is not that much bigger than us now we have Leigh Park. Perhaps we need to discover a spring we can bottle or something like that. I'm sure you've noticed those large 3 storied buildings to the south of Melksham. Whilst digging for coal, the workers discovered two springs and the buildings were built about 1814 to house visitors to a spa. It seems to have been too close to Bath and never really took off. 'Westbury Waters', it has a ring to it don't you think.
