Just before I went into Hospital at the end of Nov I started to transfer my phone to another supplier as I was fed up with BT's high bills for what seemed to me a pretty normal usage. When I got home nearly two months later they were still arguing about it. It cost me a fortune chasing them on my mobile, you know what their menu system is like!
Finally I got the old line disconnected, so that my new supplier could pick it up. Only BT stopped the line, by 'accident' and that number could no longer be used. Therefore for some days I again had no phone and lost my Broadband as well which is tied to the actual phone number. Orange did all they could to get me re-connected but it becomes a new installation with the local Exchange having to be re-configured etc. Took nearly two weeks in the end.
And it taught me for good or bad how dependent I have become on email and the Internet, eg. for my banking.
Only got back on a couple of hours ago, hope it now keeps working.

I must say Mike, unlike BT, Orange delivered when they said they would and had a really friendly and helpful team.
