I had a DIY emergency today so I made a trip in the car from Leigh Park to Davies in Westbury.
It was getting close to 17:00 and I wasn't sure what time the place would shut.

Anyway, as I was preparing to make a right hand turn (from Fell Road on to Fell Road - the section parallel to Dales Road) there was a large (7+) group of boys, all walking away from the playground (the one adjacent to the new houses being built).

It's hard to tell at my age, but they looked around 10-12 years old to me. Possibly early teens.
So I was a bit shocked when one shouted "Oi!" through my open window and then "Oi! W*nker!" when I looked in their direction.
I didn't say or do anything in reply as I was in a rush. Also wasn't keen on having my car vandalised...

Now I wish that I had stopped. Not sure what I would have said though. My impression was of one troublemaker showing off to his mates. I suspect if challenged they would have scarpered.
if I only I had a camera handy in the car I could get the little swine identified! The camera in my mobile phone is far too slow unfortunately.

I've taken the trouble to post this because one of the kids is easily identifiable. Some sort of foot/leg injury meant he was on 2 crutches. So I was thinking that if a responsible parent reads this they might appreciate being warned about the sort of company their son is keeping.

Should've run his other leg/foot over to teach him a lesson.
The lesson would be "don't be a gobby little scrote or you may get hurt"

Just to be clear, I don't think that the one with crutches was the one shouting obscenities.
He was part of the group though.

I have my suspicions regarding which one was the ringleader and will keep an eye out for him.
I can't be certain as I heard them before seeing them. Obviously I was paying attention to the road at the time.

As you say, it's pretty idiotic of the child to shout such things at a lone adult male he doesn't know.
You have to assume that, if he carries on like that, one day he's going to come off worse.

I'm certain you did the right thing and drove by. As you say, one day he'll (whoever it was) say it to someone who'll stop round the corner, walk back and give him a slap and humiliate him in front of his mates.

I know who you are talking about and i will not be polite about what i think about the child and who he hangs around with but the ringleader thinks he is the king of westbury and tends to make other people very uneasy about approaching him, you did the right thing ignoring then and i too believe that they will one day get what they deserve.
