Pulling out of my drive turning left to go towards Trowbridge, checked to my right, nothing coming so I pull out only to be met with the sight of a flatbed car recovery van "taking the racing line" on the wrong side of the road heading straight for me.

F^*£&NG TW@T!!    Angry

Well, in all fairness, you should have checked left BEFORE pulling out onto a major road. The guy could have been quite legitimately giving a cyclist a wide berth on a clear road, only to be confronted by an emerging vehicle, whose driver hadn't checked for traffic.
Due care and attention etc..

And childish insults do you no favours either.

There was no cyclist. The guy was driving too fast for the road, and on the wrong side of the road. You may call it a "childish insult" but if someone drives like a tw@t then I will call them a tw@t.

I only said there could have been a cyclist, or a badger, deer, big cat, whatever.  And you now make a second allegation that the other vehicle was speeding. How could you know, as you have already admitted on a open forum to not looking to the left before pulling out into the road?
If there had been a collision, I know what traffic investigators would identify as the primary causal factor.

You don't happen to be the driver of the gold Rover that pulled out in front of me without looking right, on the Warminster Road roundabout on Wednesday? Wink

Safe driving.

It's obvious he was driving too fast, if he was driving within the speed limit he wouldn't have been on the wrong side of the road. THERE WAS NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR HIM BEING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD.

I never said I didn't look left, in fact I did, just when I did look left he was further up the road and on the correct side. And no, I don't drive a gold Rover.
