Can anyone enlighten me on this subject?

If an estate agent displays a picture of a property for sale, and the picture shows the reg no of a neighbours car parked in an adjoining property, is this infringing any privacy laws?

Bearing in mind, that google has to blank out faces and reg no's

In general, No.  The registration mark is not personal information per se because it is assigned to a machine and not an individual.  Equally if you are in a public place anyone can take your picture simply because there is no expectation of privacy.  Google have chosen to blur faces and reg plates for commercial reasons.

Cheers
