A4 Bittern 60019 is being moving from the Watercress Line to the West Somerset Railway on Tuesday 17th March.

It probably WONT pass through the station but will go via the avoiding line.

Provisional times are

   Lavington  14.28
   Heywood Rd Jc  14.34
   Fairwood Jc  14.38
   Clink Rd Jc  14.42

REMEMBER this is a light engine movement, so its booked paths will be a low priority.

So no guarantee to these times, but keep an ear out for that iconic chime whistle.

We, and a few others, waited at the avoid line, so missed it, we just saw the top of it whizz through the station Sad

For those who missed seeing the A4 Bittern at Westbury there are some good photos on the WSR site plus others on the run up to their steam gala from the 21 to 29 March.

Oh dear, more PC gone mad.
Hope they don't implement this at Westbury station

This has been doing the rounds for a while.

Its all about photographing locations that may be used in terrorist attacks, and a rather heavy hand in applying it

I would say its more about applying common sense than "PC"

but thinking about it common sense and PC are never together imho

anyway Bittern is due to return to the Mid Hants on the 30th, and Clan Line makes a welcome return with the first of this years VSOEs on the 15th April. I will post separate links when their paths come up.

Times for the return on Monday 30th are

   Clink Rd Jc  11.25
   Fairwood Jc  11.30
   Heywood Rd Jc  11.42
   Lavington  11.51

Reluctant to say whether it will go via the station or the avoiding line.
So a good spot MIGHT !!!  be the cement works social club entrance coach lane

If you are worried about going to Guatanamo Bay for taking a picture..........

If my son went around Westbury station telling every spotter to stop taking photos etc he would never have time to do any other work!

Nigel, sorry to be a pain, but on what date is the return?
(If I waited every day at those times, I might get arrested for spying on the cement works, or for possible terrorist activities) Grin
Anyone else remember the 60's American fear, of 'Reds under the bed' ?
