Sorry yokel lol i hate reading books so half way through your comment i give up i get bored quickly lol.

I'm not saying all pubs should ban kids but please keep some for the people who just want a drink without kids running around.

We don't go to the pub that often (really!)
But those I do go in, I go in because of the whole feel and friendliness  of the place, I LOVE The Bell @ Chalford, but since moving to N.Bradley we don't go.
They are very friendly, have quiz nights, discos,  everyone knows everyone and if they don't they still make you welcome.
Our local is The Mash Tun, which we go to for the meals and special nights. (next one is St Pat's day with Irish Stew and Irish music!)
