My goodness, this is shocking news, not unheard of course, but with my son approaching the age of ten it makes it more relative to me.

Omg i had to buy the paper to read this story. One line what the boy said really shocked me. Cant remember word for word but it was along the lines of " I wil take care of IT" IT!! ITS a BABY. The fact is he was 12 when the baby was concived and thats so so scary! In that picture he looks like its his new baby sister not his daughter

On the contrary I think children should be educated properly, graphically, worts and all, including how painful the birth can be, the financial and emotional impact, the whole picture.

But why would a twelve year old want to be having sex?  Surely he should be out playing with his friends for goodness sake.

Gosh!! I am absolutely gobsmacked at how young he looks! Certainly not 13, crikey he is going to have a hard time growing up thinking he can look after "it".  On the subject of sex-ed, well, the birth, I had a detailed conversation with my older two on the way home from school last night about how they were born.... I finally told them in enough detail that they came out of "down there" and explained that some babies do come out of mummys tummys during an op  .  They seemed happy with that and then asked why Daddy had to be with me, I said sometimes Daddys go to support the mummys because they need reassurance blah blah blah  If only they knew their Dad had his head buried in my pillow most of the time lmao.

Seduction only exists in Mills n Boon books.
I'm aware that I didn't ever go out to "seduce" anyone. It was all testosterone driven I'm afraid. I used to be attracted by looks initially, then personality. If the personality wasn't there then it wouldn't go any further. I've never been a one night stand type of bloke.

Feelings started to stir and have an effect on various parts of my body at about 12/13 (sorry if too much info) but I do remember looking at some porno mags with mates in my friend's garage loft at about 9 years old although I didn't really appreciate what I was looking at.

Haha, know I am keen to be informed but do not want you to have to give away personal info, thinking about it, you have reminded me that yes boys used to bring in certain mags but think they were of Matravers age then. Lower end of.  SO yes, that kind of age.

I just wondered when you (do not mean you personally but men in general) think about having sex as opposed to just being curious etc.

I remember at School it was almost like a competetion to see who had lost their virginity, which is sad looking back, you were seen as the cool girl had you already lost it, I think it was probably more about status then hormones or lust or whatever.

Well when i was 12 all i cared about was football and playing with my football cards girls ,sex was not even on my agenda although i did look at the dirty mags we used to find down the tip.

I'm sure they would do a dna test just incase lol and he was 12 women or in this case girls are more mature earlier and she should of known better ok most boys dream about being seduced by a older woman but much older than 15 yr old girl.

I guess I just think of my son as he is now, approaching ten, all very innocent, loves Top Trumps, Sciencey things, still cuddles bears at night, loves the girls at School but equally finds them quite irritating, and I just find it hard to stomach that this boy was into sex!!!  Esp when he looks five years younger than he actually is!!

And she is almost twice the size of him.

I hope and pray to God that my kids are all well out of serious relationships until they are in their thirties
