Ok, for all you gardening buffs out there I have a question.

We have bought ourselves some plants to grow, including tomatoes, chillis, strawberries, raspberries, lettuce and cucumber.  Everything else seems to be developing but I understand that there is something I have to do with my cucumber plants to make them fruit, my Dad mentioned something about male and female parts.... I have looked it up on the net and cant make head nor tail of any gardening forums so here goes the description of my cucumber plants.

They are about 10 inches in height, with a little green like flower sprouting between the stems of the leaves, and on the top of each plant is a long, thin green looking off shoot.

Any ideas what I need to do with it?

very easy. My Dad uses a fine brush and just sweeps it over the flower heads. Note that it's not necessary if you are growing an F1 Hybrid.

I'm not an expert but as a male I need female parts before I can sprout  Grin Grin
