Had a headlight out last night, near side on a Fiesta,so i thought ooh must get that fixed asap

It aint easy to fit I admit, but thought ooh all those ads between 24hour TopGear on Dave TV, I'll give Halfords a go.

Got to the head of the queue clutching the pack of bulbs
" Are you paying cash or card ?"
me " What difference does it make"
"This till wont accept cash at the moment ?"
me "then I'll use my card"
"Fitter to till please"
5 or 6 minutes later fresh faced lad turns up
we open the bonnet
" I am not allowed to change these bulbs, they are too difficult, and I am not insured"

so after another ten minutes getting a refund for the fitting fee from the till that not only didnt like taking cash, but didnt want to give back money it had taken by card, I was back out on the street.

Anyone else had Halfords not be able to fit something because it was too difficult.
trade must be hard to come by, as I assume everyone fits their own bits if they are easy.

Challenge Tyres, popped in on the hop the other day as thought from the noises under my Peugot that the exhaust was loose........ they put it up on the ramp, took it for a test drive and then told me that something to do with the suspension was not as 'rigid' as it should be, has some play in it, so hence the noise.

Does anyone know of a small time mechanic who would be interested in having a look, (sorry I can not be more specific but I am the stereotypical female when it comes to cars)

Would rather pay a local mechanic than pay a large company the quoted £130, although I must say the mechanic was rather dishy. Grin
