Anyone else being ripped off?

Yes! All of us!
I believe the cost of oil had a lot to do with the increase in fuel prices - oil went down ages ago but the price of gas & electricity hasn't budged. We can't keep up with it, it's definately going to have an effect on our christmas this year  Angry

we started off last year doing direct debits with scottish power for electric and gas combined in one standing order ,i then recieved a letter fromthem back in september telling me my standing order had to go up to £150.00 per month from £70.00 previously .
I do not use that much power i thought and cancelled the s/o.
recieved my bill 2 days later checked my meters and they owed me money.
just recieved the last quaters bill yesterday and for both power supplies it worked out at £192.00 combined, CHECK YOUR METERS!.
i now prefer to have a bill for what i use and pay it why give these companies money to sit in their accounts earning them money.

Check your Direct Debits very carefully
Direct debit bills in spotlight

I can't find a link but I read in the paper some consumers have had hundreds of pounds debited unexpectedly by the bast****.
Oil prices have fallen by 2/3 - do you see that reflected anywhere.

With Southern Electric you can phone their meter line number and type in your  meter reading. However I had a recent bill which was based on an estimated reading and the estimated meter reading on the bill was fairly accurate. However I was still being overcharged and in credit.

I phoned Southern Electric and asked them to re-evaluate my direct debit and asked for a refund. The direct debit has now been reduced by approx 60% ! and they will refund the credit.

This demonstrates that having meter readings is only half the story..

well petrol has dropped by about 25p litre since It's peak. But i know what you mean. Gas and electric prices, so we were told, were linked to oil prices, So why aren't we seeing a drop in these fuel prices. Angry
