Today marks a new day in my confidence of my television supplier.

I've always thought that sky had the edge on Virgin. But as from today Virgin TV is definitely the winner.

I now have:

*Twice as much Hard disk space on my v+ as Sky I believe?
*Bi-simultaneous recording function. one more than sky i think
*Free setanta sports 1 and 2. Not the case with sky is it?
*All virgin and sky channels, wooo!
*On demand music and tv content unrivalled by the rival.
Overall I like Virgin Media TV the most for a few main reasons

1. V+ has more hours for recordings
2. V+ can record two channels and you can still watch a third
3. I have never had a issue with VM TV in bad weather
4. The on demand is brilliant and sky cant even compare
5. The upscaling of the V+ is good enough for most home users

Well done Virgin. Its been a long time coming.

Sky has nearly 30 HD channels, I think Virgin just has BBC HD at the moment?

You can record 2 different programmes at the same time on Sky as well

300GB hard drive, think its the same as V(80 hours,30 hours HD)

You pay for Setanta on Sky, but you also get about a dozen channels or so in with it, including the racing channel, and lots of football channels.

Good upscaling too, and of course all those glorious HD channels Wink We lose the picture probably once or twice a year for a few minites, if there is a big storm.

You know my feelings on Virgin though , Sky all the way for me, Ive had it for over 15 years now and never had a problem with it.

I think there is room for both in the market, its all about what you want from your televisual expereince Smiley

I've got Sky and I can't find anything to watch let alone record to watch later!  Wink

Yes, but you can't watch a 3rd at the same time (which Maxi says Virgin allows) as I found out last week when a warning flashed up on the screen that I had to either cancel one recording or switch off what I was watching live!

Happy :-) !

2 quotes by me....
- Nature is wonderful, you just need the time to stop, look and listen.
- Look up, you never know what you may see.

Ah, didnt realise V could do that, thought it was the same as Sky, still when you weigh it all up, Sky is still superior ;)lol

Virgin dont seem to want to add any HD channels, and as it is the future, they are being left behind, a fiver for one channel as opposed to nearly 30 channels for a tenner. I know they have on demand but Sky has anytime, and you get to see the premier film a day early with that Wink
