I'm pretty certain the Landlord is legally obliged to have annual gas and electric checks carried out on a let property.
Your letting agent should be sorting it. It's not up to you to do it.

It is a private Let.

He came out yesterday, fiddled with the boiler, told me he could not smell anything, said it was up to me if I used it or not, despite seeing the flue hanging off the boiler and the stench of oil previously.

He got agitated, he accused Steve of ''fiddling with the back pipe''

He accused me of ''trying to force him into buying a new boiler''

He got agitated. He shouted at me and sauntered around the house.

Yes I got angry back I am afraid to say.

The kids got upset and went to my neighbours.

An engineer is coming out tomorrow.

It is bloody freezing!!!!! Got one little heater my Mum lent me.
