My lovely friend has just had her hours cut at work as a postie, but is still expected of course to do the same amount of work in less hours.

Do we really appreciate the pressure that our posties are under?

Here in Southwick my post seems to be delivered around ten in the morning, no later, and I have no worries if it were to arrive later.

Do you think our posties need more support from us?

Being a Ex postman when i lived in wales around seven years ago royal mail was trying to cut out unreasonable hours of work has starting at 5 in the morning meant they at to pay more for the unreasonable hour.
And was working the way clear so start later and maybe delivering the post later meaning you be lucky to see post before 9 o'clock but companies would still get the mail has some van drivers would still start at a earlier time.
Has far has i know this has not been done yet.

On my walk i had 450 houses a day of course i didn't deliver to that many everyday unless B.T Bills Gas Electric Bills where to be delivered on that day everyone seemed to have B.T plus you got heavy sky mags and even parcels to deliver and your door to doors which was a pain i think the posties work very hard and me and wife always give our postie a Christmas tip i used to get them and it's well appreciated by the postie's has to know that the customers are happy with the effort they put in everyday has it can be hard work especially for the walking postman.

Bit of a whine  but i don't care GIVE YOUR POSTIE A WELL EARNED XMAS TIP   applause

No one blames the post men / women as they do a really good job and have always been really good and helpful here at the Maltings. But the Post Office itself is a damn mess and I do resent not getting my post till about 1pm - which is not the individual post person's fault. I do wish they would pick up the rubber bands though!  Wink
