If so, what breed is it?

My children have always been desperate to have a dog, I have never been keen until now, and I have started to research it a bit, just a bit!!

Cerys is allergic to cat hair quite drastically, and has been known to have watery eyes on a farm visit after holding a guinea pig, so obviously this would be my main concern..........

I was always brought up with Jack Russells and know you can now get miniature ones.....

I am certainly not in a rush to get a dog, merely looking into it for the future.........

Hey CC,

I've got a German Shepherd called Bella who is 9 years old, I think a dog like this would be to big but I just wanted to say how loyal they are to the family members. I think its a very misunderstood dog but its not the dogs fault, I think owners should take more responsibility when looking after them. Once you own one German Shepherd you just want to keep having them, everyone who meets Bella say how beautiful she is and she just loves to be stroked. I just wanted to show Bella off to you all, I hope you get the breed that you want CC.

Best of Luck in your search. Thumb up!

just found this info CC

Question: What dog breeds are good for allergies?

Answer: Unfortunately, there are no truly allergen-free dog breeds. Any and every dog will cause some degree of allergies in certain people prone to allergies and asthma. However, there is hope.

Single-coated dog breeds have been touted as "hypo-allergenic" for years now, and although they do still have dander, the amount is significantly less than dog with a double coat.

Poodles, Terrier breeds, and Schnauzers are some single-coated types of dogs.

Hope this helps  Smiley

Labradoodles are often advertised as hypo-allergenic, and then it all ends in tears when a member of he family reacts, and the dog has to be rehomed.

It all depends on the allergy and the person I presume.

Thanks Batty.

I have read that wired haired dogs are good for this scenario too.

I reckon I need to visit a few homes where there are dogs and see how Cerys gets on.

She was always fine with my friends Spaniel.
