Alister Darling , has announced the government are to safe guard British savers of the Icelandic bank Icsave.
The move is good news for innocent savers in the bank, who had been left with nothing after Icelands refusal and defaulting on the compensation,of savers in Britain well done Darling applause applause applause
this move by the chancellor is one he does not have to do as it is a foreign bank.

I think its a terrible idea and sets a dangerous precedent.

Saving money into an Icelandic bank pushes funds into a  country other than our own, therefore I am not sure that rescuing those savers is any of our responsibility.

Remember - OUR tax payers money is being used to guarantee the investments of people who would rather invest their funds into a different country - on this principle alone you risk your money abroad, you lose - or gain - your money abroad.

So, if you lose your money because you chose to invest it outside of this country then TOUGH.
