The stats on this site show that this month, has been the worst month since October 2006, for new posts.

Why do you think this is, and how can it be improved upon in the future? Undecided

I suspect the reasons are:
1) some of the previously quite prolific "posters" are no longer welcome here and
2) CC has not been on line for a month or so!
3) The sun shone for more than 4 minutes at a time during September so everyone was out enjoying what they could!

Don't know if you need to worry about improving on it. People will use the forum when they want to - does it matter if the number of posts are down?

I personally think the forum is a bit to extensive. Not that this should affect the number of posts, but I get a bit put off with so many boards to look at. Could do with trimming down a touch I think, plus the village sections are a bit slow moving.

Whether you like him or not, people like 'Double Decks' Hawker actually provoke a response and get people talking...perhaps reinstate him  Grin

Controversial.

The issue is not the number of posts, but the quality.

applause to all the above as reasons, plus point 3 = LOL !

or perhaps if the 'Official' Westbury Town Forum actually talked about Westbury more and went off topic less. When I talk to people at the meetings I go too and ask them why they don't use the forum they nearly all say because it has become like a Facebook group with little about the issues facing the town and villages and more about people discussing their holidays etc. Think of what someone finding this on Google and interested in Westbury (which is a fascinating place with a lot happening) would find of interest - not much I suspect.

Don't forget that you can collapse any of the categories.. so if you don't want to see the village boards for instance simply click on the arrow (or the + depending on what theme you are using) and they will vanish.

I can give you an "outsiders" point of view.

I came across Westbury by expanding my house search radius, I then started to use google to find out more about Westbury. I found a wiki page which led me to both forums. I spent a few days reading both forums. I found this one more balanced and it seemed more welcoming (no offense meant to the other site).

After looking at all the pictures of Westbury when we came for our first look around it felt like we already knew the place Smiley

I have found a lot of the information on here very useful. This forum has helped us decide that Westbury is the place we want to live.

We are still looking at all our options with regards to buying a house, my other half has convinced me to slow my ambitions of moving house before the baby is due. I guess I want to be nesting in my own home Smiley
